Draft Party

The football season is upon us and the rosters are set!  The Clute Bears (that's my team) scored Adrian Peterson with the 5th pick of the draft!

The draft party was a great family success.  Yummy snacks, meatballs, chips and queso, salsa, fruit and veggie trays and dip, cake, cookies and some sweet tea.  I made folders for all of the team owners with stats and projected points, bye weeks and rankings.  My sister-in-law scored us a draft kit.  And I found some cute, cheap decorations from the Dollar Tree.  I love that store...

The bottom photo in the collage shows the aftermath.  Laptop research, food carnage and an empty Blue Bell container...Yeah, it was that stressful!

It took a while to get this 8 team league through 23 rounds, but we managed to get it done by midnight.

Now, onward to victory!!!

JJ Watt

My daughter woke up at the crack of dawn and went with her friend to the Houston Texans training camp.  She has been wanting to meet JJ Watt for just short of forever.  She's determined to marry him.  When you go to the training camp, some of the players will come out and autograph items for you.  Last year she went and was disappointed that she didn't get to JJ Watt.  This year she did.  Here he is autographing her friend's item.  He signed her football right after the picture was taken.

All she could manage to say was "Thanks" so we aren't sending out the wedding invitations just yet.  Still, she had a great time and was super excited! :)

Never Too Early

In honor of the NFL draft coming up I have designed a new logo for our family fantasy football league. Ta-Dah...

Do I know much about football?

     Nah.

Should I learn so I don't come in last place this year?

     Probably.

I even copyrighted my team :)  And made it my cover page for my team binder (I have a small obsession with binders...).

Mr. T strategizes and keeps up on all of the NFL news.  I'm doing pretty good to know who RG3 is.  Oh, I do know that Tim Tebow and J.J. Watt are cuties!  Yeah, I'll be trying to draft that Texans defense...
